标题[请益] 有没有弄错！

1. 在文法书习题上看到这样一个句子：
She is looking for a job while she is in school.
因为之前文法书提到"while"後面都是接进行式
(ex.1.The phone rang while I was sleeping.
2.While I was doing my homework, my roommate was watching TV.)
想问有没有弄错！
重翻了一下文法书，有注记"while = 在那段时间内"！
那麽我是不是也可以说:
While I did my homework, my roomate watched TV.
毕竟"过去简单式"是指"在过去时间开始并结束的动作或情况"，
那不也是"一段时间"?！
2. 文法解答：
I wasn't at home last night, and I'm probably not going to be at home
tonight either.
但我认为是: ~ I probably am not going to be ~ .不知道我有没有说错?!
3. about未来式，对方用be going to/will问，我可以用will/be going to回答吗?!
