Today I bought 5 items @ Walgreen and a pretty American girl tried to do the buy-one-get-one-half-price discount for me. After she finished the cashiering, and deducted 25 dollars coupon, I found she accidentally sliced twice of one of the item, therefore I asked her to check again. She simply read the receipt again and again, yet because there are a line for each transaction, plus a single line for each deduction (discount), the total are 11 lines.... She read it again and again then said she did not see anything wrong, checked all the items for 10 minutes then asked the manager to do a clear investigation for me. Here the manager came. Sigh....if I could like an American's look I would like this guy, quite cute and good looking.(I simply mean he looks good, but doesn't imply I have romantic interests in him) Before I could be aware of anything, this guys tried very hard, scrutinizing my receipt. I told him, since there are 7 items. 1+(2+2+2) items => 10 lines. The additional line is extra, therefore they charged me one extra item. I showed him that I only have 7 items. He tried to look it again and again, then started to show a confusing look. =.= He then tried to return all the items, buy cashiering again and again. Then scan the total items each once again for me. I kind of changed my mind and found another item to pair for my extra 6+"1" to gain the discount. Therefore, I asked him to simply cut the new item's price to half for me. To my surprise, he knock his head very hard, stand there and look carefully at my receipt for 5 minutes...."I don't understand. I need to do it all over again. I don't know why I should cut it to half..." At last, he refunded all my money and coupon, did all the scanning and cashiering again. Before he did that, I finally burst into laughter and talked him in an humorous way..."You know what, you might be good at English, but I am not stupid at math. I am honest and won't lie to you. I won't cheat you on the money thing." The manager is quite cute, and he said humbly "I trust you, but I just don't understand what you said and need to do it by cashier and regulation. I am confused." "I understand you have to follow the regulations, but I am so sorry that it already took almost 1 hour for doing all this and it is driving me crazy. haha. I understand Americans are very patient. Sorry for causing the trouble." I said in a helpless way. Alas! Finally get all things done. And it took me 1.5 hours simply for getting the prescription and buying the 8 items. I almost want to kill myself. It's just simple calculations...this is super easy for all students in Asia. Now I understand what it means by human stupidity is sometimes annoying. Even they are nice people, I cannot tolerate this all the time and will lost my patience. Sigh....maybe I am very evil these days so I was not so patient and compassionate. I now understand what my ex feels. Hopefully by knowing the concept of comparasion, we can understand that human stupidity is everywhere. Today I feel this American is stupid, others might feel I am stupid in other aspects too. I just need to cultivate myself to be more compassionate and patient......yet honestly I really almost want to kill myself after the 1.5 hours wait for such a simple issue. --
