The Fundacio Antoni Tapies is sad to announce the passing of Antoni
Tapies i Puig, who died in Barcelona on February 6th at the age of
88. The ceremony to bid farewell to the artist will be kept stricly
private according to the wishes of the family.
As a gesture of mourning, the Fundacio Antoni Tapies will open over
two days (Tuesday 7th from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 8th, from
9 a.m. to 9 p.m.). This is to allow people to freely access the Fundacio,
where works by Tapies will be exhibited. A book of remembrance will also
be made available so that those who wish to do so can leave their memories
and thoughts on the artist.
In the next days we will shortly announce the date, the programme and the
participants of a public event to be held at the Fundacio to pay homage to
the artist.
