Houllier to remain in charge at Lyon
PARIS, April 13 (Reuters) - Gerard Houllier will continue as Olympique Lyon's
coach next season, club chairman Jean-Michel Aulas was quoted as saying on
Friday.
'I confirm that Gerard Houllier is the boss. He is staying. I don't want you
to let the smallest doubt hang over that question,' Aulas told sports daily
L'Equipe.
A former Liverpool manager, Houllier joined Lyon at the start of the 2005-06
season and coached them to their fifth consecutive title and will almost
certainly guide them to a record sixth triumph this season as they lead the
Ligue 1 standings by 17 points.
His future at the club has however been questioned after Lyon were eliminated
from the Champions League by AS Roma in the first knockout round and beaten
by Girondins Bordeaux in the League Cup final.
Aulas also told L'Equipe that he was confident most of Lyon's key players,
including midfielder Juninho and goalkeeper Gregory Coupet, would stay with
the club next season.
'Some people hinted that Juninho would leave. I talk to the players and I'm
sure he will stay. It's the same thing for Greg,' he said.
这对里昂迷该算是坏消息吧 -_-
好消息是门将Coupet和中场大将Juninho也会留下
