Key performer The 24-year-old player came first in the vote with FC Barcelona forward Thierry Henry, who had won the honour for the previous four years, second and Olympique Lyonnais striker Karim Benzema third. The award is voted for by former winners and organised by France Football magazine. Ribery has been a key player for UEFA Cup contenders Bayern since joining the German club from Olympique Marseille in the summer.
