标题[语文] 一个修辞句子请教~

expand to engulf the earth , eventually dimming,plunging the solar system
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
into darkness.
此句没动词...我懂!!!
但解答说dimming跟plunging没有连接词...不懂!!!
我不能分词代替连接词吗?
the sun will expand to engulf the earth,and (the sun will) eventually dim
and (the sun will) plunge the solar system into darkness.
我用分词代替连接词不就是dimming 然後 plunging
请神人帮我解答吧~
