necropolis 的前缀字源是古希腊文的 nekros [死者]
nic/nec/nex 则是衍生自拉丁文 necare [残杀、使…暴死、摧毁、防碍]
虽然两个很像，而且拉丁文的 necare, 以及你下文说的 noc(ere) 都是从希腊文
的 nekus [屍体] 来的，这跟 nekros 又一道是从梵文的 nac [消逝] 的
字根来的----虽说如此，但还是不一样，正如遗传父母或是隔代遗传也是有差别的
这点还可以从英文字义上的些许差异感觉到：
墓地里埋的人不一定是惨死或被害死的
但 pernicious, internecine 却隐含这种负面义
一点补充:)
