: In spite of ______ review in the press, the productin of her play
: was _______ almost certain oblivion by enthusiastic audiences whose
: acumen was greater than that of the critics.
: A. lukewarm condemned to
: B. scathing exposed to
: C. lackluster rescued from
: D. sensitive reduced to
: E. admiring insured against
: Ans: C
: Far from being _____, Pat was always _____
: to appear acquiescent.
: A. unctuous loath
: B. brazen reluctant
: C. ignoble concerned
: D. obsequious eager
: E. gregarious willing
: Ans: A
far from being + adj.
Far from being kind, he was most cruel.
空格2 + acquiescent(默从的;勉强同意的) 与 空格1 必成反义
unctuous(油腔滑调的), brazen(厚颜无耻的) 比较过後,unctuous 中选。
答案选A。
: I am often impressed by my own _____ other people's idiocies, what
: is harder to _____ is that they in their folly are equally engaged in
: putting up with mine.
: A. analysis of... justify
: B. forbearance toward... underestimate
: C. exasperation with.... credit
: D. involvement in.... allow
: E. tolerance of... appreciate
: Ans: E
Note: put up with 忍受;忍耐
因为有 eauqlly 这个字,所以空格1要填 put up with 同义字,选项 B,E 候选。
