A gas designated by subscript 1,is to be dissolved in a nonvolatile liquid.
At a certain pressure and temperature the solubility of the gas in the liquid
is X1 (X is mole fraction).Assume that Henry's law holds.Show that the change
in solubility with temperature is given by
d(lnX1)/d(1/T) = -△h/R
where △h=h(in liquid solution)-h(pure gas)
at the same pressure and temperature. On the basis of physical reasoning alone,
would you expect △h to be positive or negative?
