Jol was impressed with MK Dons, but felt that his side were never in danger after taking the lead. "The start was not easy," Jol told Sky Sports News. "They played balls in our box and they have a big target man, so there is always difficulty. "But after that we settled and took our chances well and I think we had it under control." Although the strikers took the plaudits, the performance of Tom Huddlestone in the midfield caught Jol's eye. "The second half was good," added the Dutchman. "Tom Huddlestone pulled the strings in midfield and the strikers scored good goals."
