New amendment from Sen.Grassley: 12/16/2011: H.R. 3012 Nego Set-Back in the Senate * There was an important development for this bill in the Senate yesterday. According to AILA, Senator Grassley offered an amendment that (1) eliminated the provisions for the family per country limit increase, (2) proposed to reduce the employment based per country limit to 15%, (3) proposed to eliminate diversiity visa program, and (4) proposed provisions to increase enforcement and U.S. worker protections to the H-1B and L-1 visa programs. As the readers can see from the foregoing proposals, such proposals are something which the Democrat Senators cannnot accept and reportly his amendment was objected. AILA thus reports that his hold on the H.R. 3012 remains in tact.
