Patrick Vieira has been handed a three-match ban by the Italian Football
League's Disciplinary Committee following his sending-off in stoppage time at
the end of the second half in Wednesday's Serie A match against Roma at the
Stadio Olimpico. Two matches have been added to the automatic one-match
suspension as the player, according to an Italian Football League statement,
"used abusive language towards the referee when sent off in the 48th minute
of the second half". F.C. Internazionale will appeal against the ban.
