There are rumours that Arsenal are considering an audacious bid for Inter
defensive starlet Davide Santon.
Santon was unheralded at the start of the season, but he has started to make
a name for himself under Jose Mourinho's tuition.
The 18-year-old Inter youth product made his senior debut against Roma in the
Coppa Italia quarter-finals in January and looked confident in a 2-1 win.
Since then, Santon has featured as first choice in four Serie A outings and
is growing with each week.
Italy Coach Marcello Lippi has already indicated that he expects Santon to
feature in the Azzurri side one day.
According to The Daily Mirror, the precocious youngster has also caught the
eye of Arsene Wenger.
The French manager is reportedly sending a scout to watch Santon in the Milan
derby this weekend.
If he impresses again, Inter could receive an offer from North London for
their newest jewel.
However, the Gunners will have to dig deep to persuade the Nerazzurri to
relinquish their grip on such an exciting homegrown prospect.
