Date of birth: 28 January 1980 Position: Midfielder Current Club: Gamba Osaka (JPN) Endo is a defensive midfielder who was one of the key components in the Japanese side that finished runners-up at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Cham- pionship. It took him until 2003 to break through at full international level. In the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, he filled in admirably for Shinji Ono and has been one of the leading deputies for a midfield position ever since.
