With one minute to go of the first half the Juve defender suffered torn cruciate ligaments in his right knee; a serious injury that would require both surgery and a long spell out of the first team. ‘Biri’ faced the news with the determination and spirit that has come to define his career, the last nine years of which have been spent at Juventus, and set about on the road to recovery. 自 Birindelli在八月六日对 Lisbon的友谊赛中受伤痛苦退场，已经过了六个月， 他在开赛一分钟就因右膝十字韧带拉伤下场，伤势严重必须动手术且长期缺阵， Birindelli用决心与勇气面对这个消息，这也定义了他在 JUVE九年的职业生涯， 就此走上复原之路。 “It was my first game after six months out and I felt quite emotional… more than anything I had a huge desire to start playing again. It felt good: I was only supposed to play for an hour, but as there wasn't any discomfort, I ended up playing the whole game.
