With five days to go before the Serie B curtain raiser away at Rimini, Deschamps took the opportunity to try out fresh blood, selecting new arrival Alexandre at left back and bringing on some other young faces as the game progressed. In the 27th minute, he set up Palladino who tried to surprise the keeper, and two minutes later, he slipped through Guzman before having a go himself. Doni was alert to the danger on both accounts. In the 35th minute the Juve hitman launched a long range free-kick goal bound, but the ball skipped wide at the last moment. The first half also saw efforts from Zalayeta, Guzman and Birindelli, while the Giallorossi replied with Montella, Faty, Ferrari and Giacomini, but at the half time break, the teams entered the tunnel all square. We played a good game and created several chances.
