It seemed like a foul to me”. This was Antonio Mirante's view of the incident which sparked off mass protest from the Cesena players, the referee disallowing their goal in time added on for an illegal challenge on the Bianconeri keeper. There was no doubt about it as the referee had already blown his whistle for the foul before the shot was struck. The decision was met with a deep sigh of relief by Antonio who really didn't deserve to concede a second having deputised for Buffon in such emphatic style, giving a performance which earned the praise of Mister Deschamps. “That's my job, I need to be ready when the time comes and make the most of the opportunities given to me. David Trezeguet sealed his 132nd goal with the Bianconeri tonight, overtaking Anastasi in the Juventus all time scorers chart. It was a valuable goal which helped Deschamps' men hold off the Cesena come back and take top spot in the table alongside Napoli: “After the sending-off of Zebina the game obviously changed shape and we had to work for the result. These things happen though. Jonathan has apologised to the whole team, he's a very important player to us. Someone else will need to take his place against Bari, but whoever plays will get the job done”. I spoke a lot with the referee as you always need to be respected on the field. I hope I won't have to talk as much in the future so I can save my breath for running”.
