Zebina: “I want to stay at Juve”
After a 2006 characterised by bad luck, 2007 has got off to rather
a different start for Jonathan Zebina. The Frenchman's fitness levels are
improving all the time, as his performances on the pitch would demonstrate.
He was one of the highlights against Crotone, dominating the relatively
unfamiliar role of central defender with commanding authority.
Could his Bianconeri future lie there in the heart of the back line?
“Deep down, I've always considered myself a first-team player –
he told the press on Wednesday – Unfortunately I've often had to
contend with physical problems. But if I manage to train regularly and
I don't get myself sent-off stupidly, I think I'll be able to play a lot.
Fullback or central defender? I have to admit I prefer it in the middle.
You need to measure your efforts on the flank while in the middle you
just have to concentrate on defending and doing one things is easier”.
Zebina说：「在内心深处，我总是视自己为先发的一员，
不幸的是我经常要跟体能问题搏斗，但是如果我能规律地训练，
也不再犯蠢被罚出场，我认为自己应该能踢很多比赛，
边後卫或是中後卫？我得承认我偏好踢中路，打边路要衡量攻防的投入，
打中路你只需要专心防守，只做一件事简单得多了。」
Zebina is fully committed to quickly helping the team back into Serie A,
and staying there as one of the top teams. So if one thing's for certain
it's the falsity of recent rumours of a transfer to Milan. “Either Juve
sold me without saying anything or… What surprised me was the certainty
with which this story was reported. I challenge anyone to find a contract
with Milan signed by me. What are my intentions? To stay here as part of
a competitive Juventus. My team mates and I have asked for assurances and
it looks as though the club is working towards building a squad capable
of challenging at the top. We need to bring in a big new name in each
department and have strength in depth, but that's all down to the boss
and the directors”.
谈到近来传闻他要加盟 Milan，这档事惟一确实的就是它是唬烂的，Zebina说：
「要嘛就是 JUVE卖掉我然後什麽都不跟我说，不然就是…
这事让我惊讶的是它被报导得很笃定，我质疑有任何人能在 Milan找到我签的合约，
我的打算是什麽？就是留在这里，成为有竞争力 JUVE的一份子，
我的队友跟我都请求保证，虽然球会已经在努力打造一只能冲击顶级联赛的阵容，
我们仍需要在各部门补进几名球星加强深度，但是这都是主教练跟董事们的事。」
And then there's a future beyond football, something Zebina appears to have
considered already. On Thursday afternoon, the defender opens his very own
art gallery in Milan, JZ Art Trading. “It's a passion that comes from
a meeting with a gallery owner three years ago, and also from my
relationship with Capello who would chat to me often about the subject;
I suppose curiosity did the rest. It was something wonderful and unexpected,
a real case of love at first sight”.
Zebina在足球之後也有了未来，周四下午，他自己在米兰的艺廊－－
JZ Art Trading正式开张了，他说：「这是三年前跟一位画廊老板会面而来的热情，
也是从我跟 Capello的关系来的，他经常跟我聊这方面的话题，
我猜其他的就是好奇心的引导了吧，这是件美妙而意外、真正的一见锺情。」
（原来他们俩的关系会好是因为艺术，不过这真是太妙了！）
