标题[问题] 新手Step by Step还是不行编译

我参考的是这份教学...
使用的distribution是MikLaTeX。
使用的编辑器是NotePad++
一开始先创建一个test.tex 里面的内容如下
% example1.tex
\documentclass{report}
\begin{document}
This is my first {\LaTeX} typesetting example.\\
This is my first \LaTeX{} typesetting example.\\
This is my first \LaTeX\ typesetting example.\\
I am Mr. Edward G.J. Lee, G.J. is a abbreviation of my name.\\
I am Mr.\ Edward G.J. Lee, G.J. is a abbreviation of my name.\\
Please see Appendix A. We will be there soon.\\
Please see Appendix A\null. We will be there soon.
\end{document}
放在C:\下
然後打开CLI，在C:\下输入 pdflatex test.tex
然後就显示pdftex &)(*^($&*#($ 版本讯息以後，就不会动了。
使用latex test.tex 也是一样的结果。
已崩溃Orz

最下方的Console output显示
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14(MikTeX 2.9 64-bit)
然後我就盯着他发呆了

但我同学又说有时候可能会没有错误讯息...
到底发生什麽事了...已崩溃
