On July 13th, the 18-year-old belted a two-run homer and later added a single in the Futures Game at Yankee Stadium as part of the MLB All-Star Game en route to being named the game’s MVP. In 91 games with the Drive, Lin batted .249 with five home runs, 37 RBI, and a team-leading 60 runs scored. In addition, he finished second in the Red Sox farm system as well as tying a Drive franchise record with 33 stolen bases. Defensively the product of Taiwan, who is rated by Baseball America as having the best outfield arm in the organization, finished with six outfield assists and a .961 fielding percentage. After batting .288 with 10 home runs in 124 games with the Drive in his first professional season in 2007, Lars Anderson continued to demonstrate why he is such a highly touted prospect in 2008. Playing in a total of 118 games between the Advanced-A Lancaster JetHawks and Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, Anderson finished third amongst Red Sox farm hands with a .318 batting average and fourth with 90 runs batted in.
