There have been down sides to his game, too, times in which you wondered what on earth he was all about. The poverty of his performance at Bayern Munich, when he was petulant and angry at rightly being substituted, was overshadowed by subsequent events involving Carlos Tevez. And when the 6ft 3ins striker was pitted against a depleted Everton defence which averaged out at 5ft 9ins, he didn't win a thing in the air or on the deck all night, and the Blues lost an important game. As Juve or Bayern could also afford to repay up to two-thirds of the ￡27million fee, Dzeko's stay at City will have been highly profitable for both parties. His goals have been worth millions, but an amicable parting might just be the best way forward.
