职业经历：
Goalkeeper, Tim Howard, went from high school in his home town of North Brunswic
k, New Jersey, directly to MLS (Major League Soccer) under the Project 40 progra
m. In 1997 he joined the US ISL’ North Jersey Imperials and in 1998 he signed a
professional contract with MLS whereapon he was allocated to the New Jersey Met
rostars.
守门员Howard来自於家乡纽泽西州北布朗士维克的高中，在40个项目的计画之下他直接加入
了MLS。1997年他加入了 North Jersey Imperials 队，随即在1998年他与MLS签下了一份职

He was born with a condition called Tourette's Syndrome, a neurological disorder
characterized by rapid and involuntary tics and vocalizations. He was first dia
gnosed with TS when he was 11 years old, and has says it has never interfered wi
th his playing sports.
他天生就有一种叫做Tourette’s Syndrome的疾病，这种神经性的疾病会导致脸部不自觉且
激烈的痉脔与吼叫。他第一次诊断出来有这种症状是在11岁时，但他说这从未对他的运动造
成影响。
Despite spending most of the year as a backup, in 1998 Howard made his first MLS
appearance on August 18, 1998 in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Rapids at the Mead
owlands.2000 was his breakthrough season, Howard played 794 minutes, recorded ni
ne starts and logged an impressive 1.59 goals against average.

one shirt with the MetroStars.

Howard, has become the best keeper the USA has developed since Brad Friedel and
Kasey Keller, and is the best of a whole group of talented young American keeper
s. Howard's Tourette's Syndrome is a relatively mild case of the neurological di
sorder but he is still prone to twitching and vocal outbursts. Since going publi
c with his condition two years ago, Howard has become a spokesman for those with
the disease and has become very active in creating awareness for TS serving on
the Board of Directors of the Tourette Syndrome Association of New Jersey.
Howard成为美国继Brad Friedel与Kasey Keller以来所培养出最好的门将，也是众多年轻天
才美国门将中最好的一个。Howard的Tourette's Syndrome在精神疾病中相对而言是比较轻

He has been the best keeper in MLS over the past two seasons and had had trainin
g stints at AC Milan and Feyenoord. He almost signed with the Dutch club but the
deal fell through when the MLS was asking too much for him.
他已经成为MLS过去两季最佳的门将，也曾接受AC米兰与飞燕诺的训练工作。要不是因为MLS

This year, U.S. National team coach Bruce Arena has begun to groom Howard as his
goalkeeper of the future. He stands now as third choice behind Friedel and Kell
er, and the heir apparent after those two retire from international competition
after Germany 2006.Tim also plans to launch a clothing line and is widely consid
ered the finest basketball player in Major League Soccer.

On 14th July he signed four-year contract with Manchester United, for ?.3 millio
n. Sir Alex will be getting a physically imposing and talented young player, but
one without much experience at the highest level.
他在7月14号与曼联签下了一份四年的合约，转会费是2百30万。佛格森爵士将会得到一位拥
有强壮身体及富有天份，却没有什麽在最高水准联赛中比赛经验的年轻球员。
