Gary Neville 7 6.1 Enjoyed getting forward and supplied a few

Generally didn't leave his impressive form behind in Japan but
couple of moments of hesitation almost costly 8
Neville:
More like his old self with a steady workmanlike performance and
decent going forward as well 7
Evans:
Late emergency team selection but soon got his head around the task in hand 7
Vidic:
A steadying sidekick for Evans to feed off against the danger of Fuller 7
O'Shea:
Was never in any major trouble defensively but failed to provide a
decent service when he attacked 5
Ronaldo:
Was on the periphery of most of the action all the match 5
Scholes:
Always looking for the ball that would unlock Stoke but didn't always
get response from forwards 8
Fletcher:
Put in a workmanlike stint but didn't make massive imprint of action 6
Giggs:
Some neat touches almost got Reds in but some other wayward efforts 6
Tevez:
Had been relatively quite by his standards but still Johnny on spot
for winner 5
Rooney:
Top dollar in Club World Cup final but largely unable to reproduce it 6
