They need to stay focused, especially since they still looking for their first win at home. It seems Josh Howard will be out again tonight, and Carlisle said he's going to try and work Devean George into the game tonight. George was out with a hand injury, but was cleared to play before the game in New York. He hasn't seen the court yet, but told me before the game he's anxious to make his 2008-09 debut. We learned about three hours before gametime we learned that the Mavericks' bid to acquire Zach Randolph had been thwarted by the LA Clippers, so the Mavericks will have to get back on the phones in their effort to inject some talent into their lineup. On the other end of the building Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni said he's looking forward to seeing how his big man - Marc Gasol - will do against a physical and energetic front court duo in Erick Dampier and Gana Diop. If you haven't had a chance to see Gasol yet this season, he's a very different player from his brother. At 7'1" 280 pounds he's a beast in the paint. He blocks shots, rebounds well, and scores in a variety of ways. It will be fun to see him in person tonight. I was joking around with Hakim Warrick before the game and asked him if he thought he would be this year's Sixth Man winner. Iavaroni offered that we should keep talking about that around Hakim, as that's the kind of game he wants to see from his top sub. That's about if from courtside.
