「泄气球事件」继续升级，Tom Brady 对禁赛四场的处罚表示不满，在14日提出上诉，等
待对此案拥有决定权的NFL联盟理事长 Roger Goodell 的最终处理办法。
出於对保证公正性的考虑，球员工会敦促 Roger Goodell 放弃仲裁权，寻找一名立场完全
中立的仲裁人来处理此案。
「考虑到NFL联盟在仲裁案件时经常出现的不稳定性，将案件交给一名完全中立的仲裁人来
处理是唯一公正的做法。」球员工会官方发布消息称。
NFL在本周一宣布了针对「泄气球事件」的处理办法，认定对此事「至少知情不报」的 Tom
Brady 被处以四场的禁赛，而新英格兰爱国者被罚款100万美元，另外两个未来选秀权也一
并被剥夺。
Tom Brady 的起诉仅针对自己的四场禁赛，而10日之内就将得到处理办法。爱国者队并没
有表态是否将对其他处罚进行上诉，而21日是截止日期，如果决定上诉他们必须在此日期
之前完成递交程序。
代理 Tom Brady 上诉案的将是经验丰富的律师 Jeffrey Kessler，他有过不少帮助球员上
诉成功的经验，这次他将成为 Tom Brady 扭转局势的依仗。
如果最终未能上诉成功，Tom Brady 将错过新赛季的前四场比赛，在球队10月18日的第五
场比赛中才可以复出，而巧合的是，届时爱国者队的对手将正是「泄气球」的案发对象小
马队。

One of Specter's colleagues from across the aisle, Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.,
sees things differently.
"With the war in Iraq raging on, gasoline prices closing in on $4 a gallon
and Americans losing their homes at record rates to foreclosure, the United
States Senate should be focusing on the real problems that Americans are
struggling with," Kennedy said Thursday.
"I'm looking forward to another great Patriots season where they can let
their play on the field speak for itself."

Specter sat on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, commented
on Specter's initiative, saying: "With the war in Iraq raging on, gasoline
prices closing in on $4 a gallon, and Americans losing their homes at record
rates to foreclosure, the United States Senate should be focusing on the real

he "had gone as far as he could" with the matter, and would not request a
