Officers responded to calls about a man banging on doors and encountered Bennett, although it’s not clear if he was the one doing the banging. Officers “determined he was intoxicated” and he was taken to a city detention center after being arrested. 当地警方向WFAA电视台透露︰小班在周日清晨6点因为酒後公然失控而遭到逮捕。 警方先是接获有人在路边用力敲门的通报并遇见小班，不过记者无法确认敲门 的人是否正是小班。警方随後侦测到小班当时已经酒醉，也因此将他逮捕 并送到看守所。 Bennett quarterbacked Georgia to the national championship the last two seasons and he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2022.
