本曲为 Carpenters 改编作曲大师 Burt Bacharach 於 1963 年发表的作品
《They Long to Be Close to You》，Richard Carpenter 将曲名缩为《Close to You》
，并在他们第二张专辑中灌录这首歌。本曲不仅在 1970 年 7 月 25 日登上冠军宝
座并蝉连四星期，还为 Carpenters 在葛莱美奖中夺得「年度最佳新进艺人奖」及
「年度最佳流行合唱团体奖」。
淡淡乡村抒情曲风，在二度和四度音程的反覆运用中表露无遗，娓娓道尽一位
情窦初开少女的青春旖梦，这在当时摇滚乐盛极一时的年代，可谓替世界乐坛带来
一股清新芬芳的感动；歌词平易近人，是一般人生活中俯拾即是的经验，搭配轻灵
流动的和弦，对听众必定是绝佳的心灵飨宴。
