郭教授简介：郭教授於2004年至台大医学系毕业後，前往美国着名的外科医院 Baylor
College of Medicine 担任neurology resident，2009年训练结束後，於Columbia
University (哥伦比亚大学) 进行次专科训练。2012年被Columbia University聘为
Associate Professor。郭教授是少数外国医师，在没有绿卡的情况下成功录取美国着
名大学医院，并获得不受两年返回祖国限制的H1-B visa。以下为郭医师在Columbia
University的介绍*：
Dr. Kuo is a Movement Disorders specialist caring for patients with ataxia,
Parkinson's disease, and tremor. He also sees patients with dystonia,
Tourette's syndrome, myoclonus, and chorea. His primary clinical interest is
ataxia, including hereditary ataxias, neurodegenerative ataxias, and acquired
causes of ataxia.
In addition, Dr. Kuo is a physician-scientist focusing on research of
cerebellar diseases and Parkinson's disease. He has investigated the
cerebellar changes in the post-mortem tissues of patients with essential
tremor, and is involved in the natural history study and clinical trials of
spinocerebellar ataxias. He has published articles in Neurology, Movement
Disorders, and the Journal of Neuroscience. Dr. Kuo is a recipient of the
American Academy of Neurology Research Fellowship Award and the Parkinson's
Disease Foundation Lucien Côté Early Investigator Award in Clinical
Genetics.
