Van Persie : "Absolutely great. At last some good news. However, it is only the pre-selection. I have not been selected for the fist team as of yet." Although Van Persie cetainly possesses the qualities needed for a Dutch international, his selection can still be seen as somewhat of a surprise after being rejected by Holland under-21's coach Cor Pot who threw him out of the squad due to his lack of mentality. Referring to Van Persie Pot stated last September: "The squad does not necessarily have to be brimming with talent.
