HOLLAND WELCOME BACK THREESOME OF REGULARS Friday 1 October 2004 09:59 hrs National team regulars Phillip Cocu, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Arhjen Robben have made their return to the Holland squad. Marco van Basten revealed all three were recalled for duty in his 21 man strong Holland squad, that is set to face Macedonia and Finland. Also Dave van den Bergh of FC Utrecht has returned. Defender Ooijer is out with a hamstring strain. Cocu has recovered from pneumonia, Van Nistelrooy is back from suspension but will have sit out the Macedonia clash as he was penalised for two games after insulting referee Frisk during the EURO finals. He was not called up for all previous Van Basten matches. Most surprising is Arjen Robben's come back after he suffered a setback to his ankle-injury during a Stamford Bridge training session. Before Dutch television camera's he admitted bioth ties may be a tad early for him to feature. His reinstatement does come as a surprise. Besides the three regulars new man Van den Bergh has been recalled by Van Basten. The FC Utrecht winger failed to make the team that beat the Czechs last time around, but has been extremely consistent at club level. PSV-goalie Edwin Zoetebier replaces Ajax-goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. Stekelenburg misses out on the next Holland World Cup qualifiers through a knee injury. After this morning's training the knee problems of Stekelenburg got worse and he had to withdraw from the Dutch squad.
