我的经验
如果你说 go/be out of state 老外会觉得你是要出国
如果你说 from out of state 这是指你是从外州来的
如果你只是要说出远门而不是出国的话
多半是用go out of city/town
不过我不是老外 只是我的经验

网路上mail forwarding我试过满多次
NY, NJ, NC, TX州际间或是州内 都没问题
只有一次NC转NC的失败
本来以为说是因为我要他申请後三天就转 太赶了
可是後来等了一两周都没转 因为後来很快就又搬家了 所以也没在意
没记错的话 在网路上作mail forwarding要付$1手续费
如果你直接去邮局拿表填寄 是不用付钱的
到邮局拿表的话 建议你先在邮局放表格的地方自己找找
有时候他们会放在外面让你自己去拿
可以省去排队的时间 (邮局的效率有够差 尤其是纽约这种大都市...)
还有就是有些新的地址 可能邮局的资料库中还没有的
那你就一定要去领表手写填寄
因为你用网路上填表时他会检查地址 资料库中没有的他不让你转
btw 海外版有些字句特别容易让人反感 甚至引起笔战的
像是 我在国外住久了 所以blahblah
或是 台湾人都是blahblah
有时候说者无意但是听者有心
