And the West Ham-born 21-times capped former England playmaker recalls fondly his time on Tyneside. 　　"When I go up to the North East," he said, "they still love the way we played and I did. 　　"They were the best 10 years of my career and the best five were under Kevin. 　　"You look back now and we had such an opportunity to win something.
