又是很不负责的不翻译版 RTVG Interview with ANTM 13's Rachel Echelberger What was going through your head when they put you on the spot to sing a song and then later when you had to leave Oh my gosh, I was not prepared, it was hard when you don't expect something, for the life of me, I could not think of any song out of all of the musicals that I have been in... my heart was beating, I had this crazy feeling and then when they actually came out and said that someone had to go home, I started to wonder if the rest of my interview would be enough. (Which song would you have sung?) Marilyn Monroe's Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, I love that song and usually have so much fun with it or Alicia Keyes I Keep on Falling, I love that song too. (What were the other girls' reactions?) I think everyone was kinda on edge and surprised, it was just crazy. We were all just stuck for a minute, we were all quiet even before he said anything... we were just waiting to hear who was going home... and then when he called my name, they just starting hugging me, Sundai and Laura especially. Tyra commented a few times on your unique, Bambi-esque look, have you embraced your unique look? I love my big ol' eyes... it makes me, me! I used to get teased for it, but I always loved it and it was amazing to have someone else think it was beautuful too. I would have loved to do the smizing (smeyezing?), it would have been so much fun! Are your stats the same as when you started the show? What is you ethnicity? I am still eighteen, I grew an inch, so now I am 5'6," I am Portuguese and German. How did you feel about your makeover, are you planning on keeping it? I love it and I am keeping it until an agent or agency tells me to change it. Why were you all wearing flats, was that on purpose? Yes, it was because we wanted everyone to see that we are short and we are proud of it. (Was the girls' idea or directed by production?) It was actually from production, but we liked it, we did not have to stand around in heels all day, but I do love my heels though (laughs). Who were your closest friends in the house? Are you in touch with them? Did you clash with anyone? Sundai, Laura and Lisa, I am hoping to keep in touch with them. I actually did not have any problems with any of the girls in the house, I don't know if any of them had a problem with me. I made a lot of friends that I am hoping to keep in contact with, all of the girls were pretty nice. What did you do with your time in the Top Model house? I practiced a lot, I used the runway and the mirrors, I also went swimming a lot and just hung out with the girls with the free time that we had, we were busy a lot of the time. Were you pursuing modeling before you were cast on ANTM? I just graduated high school on '08 and I was working at Walmart and saving up money to move to LA, so when this opportunity came along it sped things up for me. (What are you doing with yourself right now?) I am preparing to move to LA [with my best friend Caitlin], I will be there by October 1st, I am gonna to pursue modeling and try to go to acting school, I am hoping to do that someday too... but modeling is definitely my top priority... I love it and it is something that I plan to do for the rest of my life, or as long as I can. (So are you out of Walmart?) Oh yeah (laughs), I will probably have to get a waitress job or something in LA, but I am leaving, I am definitely ready to start... I wanna get this show on the road! What kind of modeling do you plan to pursue? I definitely want to get into high fashion, and I would love runway, but with my size I know it's hard... I need a good portfolio, I want to do commercial, beauty, anything, as long as I'm modeling. (How do you address the comments directed at you and the other Cycle 13 competitors that a career in modeling is not a realistic goal? How was it addressed during the competition?) Well a lot of the people we worked with have given us constructive criticism and there has been exceptions...also you can go into beauty and commercial modeling, there is a lot more to modeling than high fashion and runway. Other girls did talk about being turned away from agencies that kind of stuff, so it is definitely harder for us short girls, but there definitely a place for us in the modeling industry. Given how things panned out are you interested in Wilhelmina, especially since it is one of the few agencies that signs shorter girls? I would go for anything, I am just going to hustle until someone says yes, Wilhelmina included. Just because it wasn't right at the time, does not mean that it won't be right in the future, I am not closing any doors. Where are you from? Tell us a little about your family and friends. I am from Woodland, California about fifteen miles north of Sacramento. I have three brothers and a stepbrother and a step-sister... I am very close to my family and they have been so supportive... everyone has been so supportive and it is good having people to help you... my friends are just awesome! How would you describe your personal style? Where did you get the zoo ranger outfit? I just wear what I like, whatever makes me happy, everything I wear represents me a little. My personal style is hippy... bohemian I wear a lot tank tops, I'm very casual. I am OK when I have to dress up and I know how to dress up, but I am mostly casual. Lucky is my favorite store, I really like going in there, it's fun. It seeems like you watched Top Model before, what were your favorite seasons and who were your favorite competitors? I have seen all of the cycles except the cycle before last, I like Allison from the last cycle, I really like her look... and Naima; the first few cycles are my favorite. Who do you think will win America's Next Top Model? Who are you rooting for? Nicole, she has a really good look and a great body, she takes good pictures, and she has nice poses from what I have seen so far. Who would I like to see win? I love Laura, she is especially beautiful, she is amazing and has a wonderful personality... and Sundai, I love Sundai too. What few words pop in your mind about... Jay Manuel - He looks like a Ken Doll, oh man, you think that people on TV don't look as good in person, but he does! He gave good criticisms. Jay Alexander - super funny... very entertaining... down-to-earth. Nigel - Very nice guy, amazing photographer, he made good comments that I will remember and take with me. Tyra - Amazing, she has done such amazing stuff like with Bankable Porductions.. she is an amazing role model. Guest Judge Chanel Iman - Beautiful... oh my gosh. it was insane, she is one of my favorites, so it was amazing. She is very, very down to earth, very approachable and so nice.
