I've never wanted to say anything else in a tune. We're going to be rock stars, and even if we don't, even if we're just playing in the fucking Boardwalk the rest of our lives, we're going to ACT like fucking rock stars. When we started it, my ambitions were to have a jet, a monkey, a house with a swimming pool, and a gaff in Ibiza. Did I ever get a monkey? I've got Liam. He's the only monkey I'll ever need. 「"Rock 'N' Roll Star" 等於是我们团的整个座右铭。我从来不曾在歌里 表达过其他的东西。我们就是要当摇滚巨星，即使我们没成功，即使我们 终其一生都只能待在家乡他妈的小场地表演，我们都会自嗨的扮演好心目中 的摇滚巨星。真正开始组团的之後，我的理想是拥要一架喷射机、 一只猴仔、一栋有泳池的大房子，还有伊比萨的一座帆船。我到底有没有养过 猴仔?我有 Liam 呢，他是我这一辈子唯一需要的猴仔。」 (PG的话:看到那几句"Did I ever get a monkey? I've got Liam..." 真是快让我笑破肚皮了^^||盖勒格圈圈里的幽默啊) * Some Might Say Noel: Some of the lines are quite deep: " Some might say they don't belive in heaven / Go and tell it to the men who live in hell." But then the chorus is just absolute nonesense. I can't believe that was our first fucking No. 1. It's probably still my favourite Oasis song, and I remember recording it for the first timein Wales, and all our crew from Manchester, Wigan, some Scousers, and we just ended up listening to it over and over and over and over again. 「"Some Might Say"里面有些歌词含意真的颇深『有人说他们不相信天堂的存在 / 不如把这句话送给那些身陷地狱的人』但是接着的副歌又是完全的胡说八道了。 不敢置信这首竟然是我们他妈的第一个排行榜冠军单曲。它大概仍然是我个人 最爱的绿洲创作，我记得第一次在威尔斯录这首歌的时候，所有的工作人员 有从曼城来的、维根来的、一些利物浦来的，而大家最後只是一遍又一遍 又一遍又一遍的听着这首歌。」 (PG的话:最後那两句看了满感动的，头子用了 4 个 over，原来这首歌是团结凝聚 北方灵魂的好歌啊;) * Talk Tonight Noel: Liam fucking hates it to this day. 'Cos when it come out that I'd wrote that and "Half the World Away" on that trip, he was going ' Oh he's gone all country and western, its acoustic guitars and he's singing it with an American accent.' which I've never really understand. 「Liam 直到今天都还是很讨厌 "Talk Tonight"。起因於当时在出走的旅途中 我写了这首还有另一首"Half the World Away"，那时候 Liam 就说了『喔拜托 他又在那边西部乡村了，用空心吉他而且还唱着美国口音』，我想我也不会了 Liam 到底在不满什麽。」 (PG的话: Liam 好像真的很反美哦:P 不过我个人很喜欢这两首歌，尤其是 "Half the World Away"...曲和歌词都超赞!) * Lyla Noel: I had a really low period , I'd lost all enthusiasm for writing; after Be Here Now, then Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, and parts of Heathen Chemistry, I didn't know where I was going with it, I didn't know what I was trying to fucking do, and "Lyla" re-energised the band. I didn't really know how good it was 'til the first night we played it. It's a great pogo-ing song. 「我曾有过非常低潮的时期，失去所有创作的热情；就在 Be Here Now 之後， 经历了Standing on the Shoulder of Giants，然後部分的 Heathen Chemistry 我都不知道我到底要拿这一切怎麽办，也不知道我到底要试着他妈的作出什麽， 而 "Lyla" 的出现适时的重新激励了整个团，直到我们第一次现场表演这首歌 我才体会到它到底有多好，它真的是一首可以跟着摇滚，欢欣鼓舞的歌曲。」 (PG的话:看来 96年 Knebworth 那场25万人空前的演唱会带给 Noel 的并不是满足， 而是更多的迷失...不晓得达到颠峰之後要往哪里去...幸好不断有新的契机 和转折，终於撑到现在..."Lyla"乍听真的不怎麽样，可是演唱会的时候 它还真有种魔力让大家一起跳上跳下的哩!) * The Importance of Being Idle Liam: If the critics feel it was a return to form, then that's what they feel. To me, I don't think we ever lost our form. I'm not being arrogant about it, but it's just that we've always written decent tunes, it's just that everybody started nit-picking at Oasis. 「如果乐评媒体觉得 Don't Believe the Truth 是我们东山再起的像样之作， 那是他们的感觉。对我来说，我从不认为我们曾有失手不像样的时候。 并不是我在自吹自擂，Oasis一直以来都做出很不错的歌，只是大家渐渐开始 挑剔、找碴了。」 (PG: 相较於头子不时回头批评糟蹋自己 Be Here Now 之後的作品<现场都不唱了T-T> Liam的态度总是让我又心疼又不忍...不过我相信 Our Kid 会一直保护紧抱着 Oasis 的一切...无论她们是好是坏、是高潮或低潮...只因为那是他的全部 他存在的意义;) ------------------------------------------------- To be continued...
