Contrary to some reports, the band have not 're-signed' to Sony - rather it's a deal specifically between the label giant and the band's own label Big Brother. In the terms of the agreement, Big Brother release their next three new albums as well as their entire back-catalogue in a profit-sharing scheme with Sony, which should prove very lucrative for Noel Gallagher who's head of his band's label. Oasis have released all their records since 2000 in the UK on their own, independently run label Big Brother Recordings which has to date amassed sales of over 4,000,000 albums. Oasis’ seventh as yet untitled studio album is due out later this year. Ged Doherty, Chairman and CEO of Sony BMG in the UK said: “Oasis are in complete control of their destiny and could have chosen to sign with anyone – or even go it alone - so I am delighted that they have chosen to continue to work with us."
