Noel Gallagher slams reality TV Noel Gallagher has slammed reality TV shows for "having absolutely nothing to do with music and everything to do with television". The Oasis star also singled out X Factor's Dannii Minogue for criticism in a magazine interview. He said: "If somebody is dangling this carrot of 'fame and fortune' in front of a check-out girl who can sing like Britney Spears then they're going to go for it, right?" Gallagher was speaking to Radio Times. He added: "You're going in at the top, with a number one that sells 750,000 or whatever and you've got someone like Dannii Minogue telling you you're really talented - and if there's one person in the room who wouldn't know talent if it kicked them in the a*** it's Dannii Minogue." Voted off The reality show entered its first live round at the weekend with girl band Bad Lashes being the first act to be voted off. Gallagher thinks contestants find it difficult returning to normal life once they have appeared on the programme so they try to sustain their profile by going on celebrity shows. Oasis are currently touring the UK in support of their new album Dig Out Your Soul, which charted at Number One this week. They are set to perform at the BBC Electric Proms on 26 October with the Crouch End Festival Chorus. Gallagher told the Radio Times: "Songs like Don't Look Back in Anger and Slide Away I think of as modern hymns, and everyone'll be singing along anyway. "So I thought, 'Why don't we get a choir to help them?' We're not Radiohead - which is thinking man's music - we're drinking man's music. "We're like Radiohead's crazy cousins who got locked in the tower. We've got more in common with Slade than the Beatles."
