BALTIMORE (TICKER) —The Baltimore Orioles on Monday acquired righthander David Pauley from the Boston Red Sox for righthanded reliever Randor Bierd. Pauley, 25, spent most of last season at Class AAA Pawtucket, posting a 14-4 record with a 3.55 ERA in 25 starts. He made six appearances - including two starts - for the Red Sox, going 0-1 with an 11.68 ERA. Bierd, 24, was acquired by the Orioles in the 2007 Rule V draft from the Detroit Tigers. He was 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA in 29 games out of the bullpen for Baltimore last season. Bierd made his major league debut last year after spending five seasons in the Tigers’organization. --
