Orlando’s Battie Suspended One Game
NEW YORK, Dec. 6 – Orlando Magic center Tony Battie has been suspended for one game without pay for throwing an elbow to Memphis Grizzles forward Pau Gasol’s head, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.
The incident, in which Battie was called for a flagrant foul penalty two, occurred with 6:05 remaining in the first period of the Grizzlies’ 96-91 loss at Orlando on Saturday.
Battie will serve his suspension during the Magic’s game at Denver tonight.
