: Monday, Oct. 5, 2004 : At our annual team meeting to tip off training camp when I was a rookie : two years ago, I had to get up in front of the room, sing the National : Anthem and the Stanford fight song. Then, we had to read the whole NBA : rules sheet. 两年前我还是新人时参加营前会，那时候我必须站在前面，唱美国的国歌和史丹 佛的战歌，接着我们必须读出nba规则的所有条文。 : Last night, the rookies didn't have to do anything. They didn't sing and : the coaches read the rules sheet. But, we'll make sure that the rookies get : something coming their way. It’s a long week. You don’t have to bring out : all the tricks on the first day. Actually, rookie Jackson Vroman breaking : his hand is enough punishment for him. He's got to sit and watch for the : next three or so weeks, so that's going to be tough for him. But we'll have : something else special for him eventually. 昨晚，那些新人们什麽也没做，他们没有唱歌，连规则都是教练们念的。哈，但我们 一定会想办法让他们有点事做的(奸笑)，别忘了一个礼拜可是很长的阿，没必 要在第一天就把所有技俩都用上嘛，不过，Vronman 这衰鬼倒是已经受了不少折磨了， 这老家伙把自个儿的右手大拇指给搞断了，接下来的三个礼拜他只能坐着看我们练球了， ，但我们还是准备了一些特别的来招待他。 : After the meeting, I went up to my room and watched some ESPN for a while : before I went to bed. This isn't a pleasure trip. We don't go out at night : unless it's a team function. I'll just sit in my room at night and either : talk on the phone to my wife or friends, watch TV or get a movie. Rest is : the main goal so I can come ready to play the next day. The first priority : is to make sure you have fresh legs and you're ready to go for every : practice. 在会议後，我回到房间并在睡前看了一会儿ESPN。这可不是什麽欢乐旅行团阿。 除了球队的聚会以外，我们通常不会在晚上出门。我会坐在房内跟老婆和朋友通电话 或是看些电视或电影，对我们来说，休息才是最重要的，这样我才能够有体力应付隔天 的练习，我必须优先确定我有充满活力的双腿且准备好应付所有的练习。 : I know I told you in my past journal, but I'm a big breakfast guy. I love : breakfast and I believe wholeheartedly in that saying about it being the : most important meal of the day. Now, I would have loved to have packed some : of my wife's famous breakfast sandwiches, but they would have gotten all : cold and soggy, so this morning I got room service instead. It's not home : cooking, but it's still nice. I got some eggs, bacon, fruit and I had it : delivered to my door. Some guys wake up really early to walk all the way : down to the restaurant, then order food and wait there to get it. To me, : that doesn't make any sense when you can just check off what you want on : the room service menu and hang it on the doorknob before you go to bed. : They bring it right to you when you wake up. That's the way I like to enjoy : breakfast. 我知道我在之前的日记跟你们说过了，但我还是要重申一次"我是个早餐大食客" 我爱死早餐了，我也由衷的相信早餐是一天中最重要的一餐这句话。原本我喜欢 带一些我老婆做的爱心三明治，但他们会变冷变湿，所以今天我决定叫饭店的早餐 ，虽然不是自己家弄得，但还是不错吃。我叫了客房服务点了一些蛋、培根和水果。 有些人喜欢早起走到餐厅点餐。但对我来说，有客房服务干嘛不用阿，当你醒来的时 候就有人为你送来早餐。我喜欢这样享受早餐。 : Then it was off to our first practice of camp. We did some drills to run : up and down the floor. We're actually in pretty good shape. I've been : playing five days a week for the last four weeks, so I'm ready to run up : and down. 接着我们就进行第一项练习，我们做了一些全场跑动的训练，我们的状况很好， 在过去4个礼拜中，我每个礼拜都练习5天，所以我已经准备好了。 : Because we've been working out together informally for the past month, : everybody knows each other. If this had been our first practice together : as a team without that, it would be pretty strange, but we're past the : introduction phase. We know each other pretty well; as good as we can for : playing with each other for a month. We’re hitting the ground running : right now. 在过去几个月我们一起进行练习，所以大家都已经认识对方了。假如我们今天才 第一次配合进行练习，那一定很怪，但我们已经可以跳过自我介绍这个阶段了。我 们已经很熟了，可以在一个月里愉快的一起练球 .我们正马不停蹄。 : I'm looking forward to tonight's workout, when we'll really run up and : down. Everybody's going to really break a sweat.
