标题[问题] 前置基础的判断

以下例子想询问大家的意见
一种太阳能电池,至少有一金属氧化物层(其他特徵省略).
金属氧化物层可为氧化钨层.
因此,
独立项为
A solar cell, comprising: a layer of a metal oxide(以下略).
附属项
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the layer of the metal oxide is
a layer of WO3.
或可写为
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the metal oxide is WO3.
以上两种表示方式是很常见的
如果写成以下不知是否可行
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the metal oxide of the layer of the
metal oxide is WO3.
部分同事建议the metal oxide of the layer应改成"a" metal oxide of the layer
理由是a layer of a metal oxide没有提供任何前置基础
但我反驳说a layer of a metal oxide就是指一种有metal oxide的layer
"metal oxide" 早就隐含在"layer"中,是有前置基础的
想问各位的看法
若小弟观念有误也希望各位给予指教
