Now it loo like the buccos might take the Catcher out of BC Ton Sanchez. I am actually fine with the pick if it comes true. Don't worry, I don't think it's being cheap and I'll explain why. The best P, with all indication, will almost certainly go to the Nats. The best hitter in this draft, Ackley, will probably be avaliable at the 4th. Hence, it is really fine for the buccos to pick someone who will sign really quick with reasonable rate, or the slot money. It seems that Tony Sanchez is going to sign quickly and won't be greedy. He then can start playing immediately, which will also boost out catcher-lack system. If we can get the best pitcher or hitter, we certainly will have to pick, but if not, having someone who can help with our position depth and signablity is important for the first round this year, due to the light draft this year. The most important thing is, we will need to have a lot of good picks after the first round and then spend money on those draft picks, just like what we did last year with 6th round pick Robbie Grossman that he got a 1M signing bonus. As long as we keep working on signing good picks with good reasonable money, it is going to be fine that spending any record-breaking money in the 1st round. Looking forward to seeing the performance of the front office on the draft and the draft signees. I believe they will do just fine. --
