Detroit looks tired after Friday's victory, Indiana's fresher legs are good for
a 59-44 rebound advantage.

INDIANAPOLIS -- It seemed the tank might have been running low when Chauncey
Billups yawned during pregame introductions. When the Pacers got 14 offensive
rebounds in the first quarter, you knew the teams were playing with differing
levels of intensity.

outworked, outmuscled and outlasted the Pistons, 93-85 Saturday at Conseco
Fieldhouse.

Pistons coach Flip Saunders said. "They had more energy and they were more
aggressive.They played better than we did, both on the offensive end and on the

outrebounded by 25, you shouldn't even be in the game."

Credit the Pacers, though, for not giving in to all the adversity they've dealt
with this season. Credit them, too, for playing defense that never allowed the
Pistons to get into any flow.

"The last two games, we were playing teams without their star players," said
Richard Hamilton, who scored 31 points. "Philly was without Allen Iverson and

"There was a little bit of (fatigue), but not too much," said Rasheed Wallace,
who had 17 points. "We still have to play and do our thing. But they had more

"Chauncey picked up two quick fouls and that took the rhythm out of his game,"
Saunders said.

The Pistons offense went stagnant from that point. Billups couldn't be as
aggressive defensively. Thus, Anthony Johnson and Fred Jones were able to
penetrate the lane.

converted more second-chance opportunities. They only had 14 points off the 25
offensive rebounds.

The 14-1 offensive rebound advantage in the first quarter was instructive. The
Pistons have given up fewer than 14 offensive rebounds in 32 full games this
season.

"They were more aggressive and they wanted it more than we did," said Ben
