Brandon Knight 6-4 177 PG Kentucky
Do the Pistons need yet another combo guard? They clearly wanted to go big
and thought they'd get Tristan Thompson or Bismack Biyombo. But with Knight
sliding to No. 8, the Pistons felt they had to take the best talent
available. He has major upside, is a great teammate, works hard and plays
defense. The Pistons can move Rodney Stuckey to the 2, and they'll be fine.
Barring a trade, they'll have to find another big man some other time.

Kyle Singler 6-9 228 SF Duke
The Pistons went for toughness at No. 33. Singler has struggled with his shot
and lacks a clear position, but he's one of the toughest guys out there. One
scout said he could be an Andres Nocioni type of player in the future.

Vernon Macklin PF 6-9 243 PF Florida
Macklin is a solid low-post player who improved greatly over his college
career. He's tough, and that goes over well in Detroit.
