John Rawls的无知之幕的正义原则应用在同志婚姻议题上 正好应该要遮蔽掉性别、性倾向、与「异性恋主流」的预设偏见 而John Rawls也是支持同性婚姻法的 以下是Samuel Freeman在美国公共电视台接受专访谈John Rawls 其中有一段包括了同性婚姻法 "Rawls also supported gay marriage. This ensures that no one is advantaged or disadvantaged in the choice of principles by the outcome of natural chance or the contingency of social circumstances. Since all are similarly situated and no one is able to design principles to favor his particular condition, the principles of justice are the result of a fair agreement or bargain. (p.11) If a knowledge of particulars is allowed, then the outcome is biased by arbitrary contingencies. (p.122) To begin with, the veil of ignorance excludes all knowledge of likelihoods. The parties have no basis for determining the probable nature of their society, or their place in it. Thus they have no basis for probability calculations.
