As if it wasn’t enough that Nets forward Kris Humphries is dating reality TV
star Kim Kardashian, he also happens to be having a career year. Humphries,
26, is in his sixth season and entered the year as a journeyman, with New
Jersey being his fourth stop. It has also been his most fruitful—he is
averaging 10 points and 10.4 rebounds as he heads into free agency in the
offseason.

Rather than Kardashian being a distraction, Humphries actually gives the
relationship partial credit for his improvement.

“You know, it’s interesting,” Humphries told CBS New York. “Just being
around her, seeing how hard she works, and everyone in her family and what
they do, it’s motivating for me. I want to be the best that I can be. I
wouldn’t say it’s the only reason I’ve had a great year, but it definitely
factors into that. … A lot of people would think it would be a distraction,
but for me it’s been motivation.”

Humphries has been in and out of the starting lineup for the Nets, but has
reclaimed the starting job in the wake of the deal that sent rookie Derrick
Favors to Utah. In March, Humphries has played the best he has played in his
career, averaging 14.2 points and 14.8 rebounds, while shooting 53.2 percent
from the field.
Humphries目前已成为篮网固定的先发阵容，自从新秀Derrick Favors被送至爵士之後。
