He's been playing really good overall ball. Hopefully that continues." He was replaced on the roster by righty Jermaine Van Buren, who was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket. Van Buren had a brief stint with the Sox earlier this season. DiNardo said he started feeling discomfort on the left side of his neck last Friday, two days before he got hit hard in a loss to the Phillies. "We'd been working on it," DiNardo said. "Any kind of jerking motion, and it's been [having spasms] and it's kind of running down my back. Hopefully it won't be long. We're doing a lot of stuff on it. We'll see what happens." Van Buren might not be around long, as the Red Sox will need to open up a roster spot on Friday, when David Wells comes off the disabled list.
