David Wells has been dealt to the San Diego Padres.
The Red Sox are expected to make an official announcement within the hour.
It's expected the Sox obtained catcher George Kottaras, a left-handed hitting
backstop who could contend for a backup up spot on the major league roster in
'07.
Wells was expected to depart to San Diego tomorrow morning and make his first
start on Saturday.
