In 2005-06, Redick made 139 3-pointers on 42.4 percent shooting from behind the arc. He is also second among the NCAA’s all-time leaders in free throw percentage at 91.2 percent. Redick concluded his Duke career with 2,679 points to become the school’s and ACC’s career scoring leader. As a senior, Redick was the nation’s second leading scorer with an average of 27.4 points per game as the Blue Devils went 32-4 en route to both the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season and tournament titles. The 6-foot-4 guard capped an exceptional college career by winning this season ’s Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year, The Associated Press Player of the Year and the John R. Wooden award, presented to the nation ’s best basketball player. Redick also won the 2005 Amateur Athletic Union James E. Sullivan Memorial Award, given annually to the nation’s top amateur athlete. In doing so, he beat out Texas quarterback Vince Young, as well as Southern California’s Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
