Andy To Play WTT 2005-07-12 On Saturday, Andy will return to World Team Tennis and the St. Louis Aces for his fourth season. He will participate in the home match against the Newport Beach Breakers. WTT is a team event, and also playing for the Aces are Jamea Jackson, Jennifer Russell, Jonathon Erlich, Andy Ram and Greg Patton. The St. Louis Aces play at the Dwight Davis Tennis Centre in St. Louis, MO. The structure to a WTT evening is unique. Each match up features five sets: one set each for mens and ladies singles, mens doubles, ladies doubles and mixed doubles. On the rules of the matches, the WTT website states: “The first team to reach five games wins each set. One point is awarded for each game won, and a nine-point tiebreaker is played if a set reaches four all. If necessary, Overtime and a ‘Supertiebreaker’ are played to determine the outright winner of the match.” WTT is a lot of fun for everyone involved. Andy enjoys playing as he commented, “WTT is like extreme tennis, anything goes.” Ilana Kloss, the CEO of WTT is also pleased to have Andy’s participation in the event. “Andy brings a tremendous amount of excitement whenever he is on the court so his personality is the perfect compliment to World Team Tennis.” Tickets for Andy’s appearance this weekend are already sold out. Many other top tennis stars (including former ones) are also playing in WTT, including Martina Hingis, Anna Kournikova, Patrick Rafter, Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf.
