This is the same list which ranked 76ers forward Lavoy Allen as dead last in the league a season ago, only to issue him a face-to-face apology after the Temple grad held his own in the team’s run to the Eastern Conference semifinals. I don’t like my power forward shooting a bunch of jump shots and definitely not three-pointers. In my mind, Allen’s upside, strength and instincts at the position make him the favorite to play the four spot. Allen showed a great knack for positioning, defense, rebounding and hitting a shot when needed during last year’s playoffs. As Charles Barkley put it, not that Bynum can’ t be the man, but the center has never been the first option in his entire NBA career. No slight against any of the other starting PF candidates, but Allen gives Bynum the best chance to transition into a force with the Sixers.
